P.1 - THE ARCHITECTURE

Focusing our lenses onto the buildings I am trying to reveal and expose the architectural mechanisms of the infrastructural operating system. A general outcome of a strict followed grid applied in the whole estate becomes visible. The geometry and symmetry of the buildings, the multiple floors and the infrastructures as well, made the systematic architecture to stand out.

We have concluded that buildings in Canary Wharf are varying in many aspects such as the size, the plan, the height, the materials etc. However, the composition of all these dissimilar configurations, share some common systems. The estate is been characterized by its divertive architecture and planning, the ranger system that the estate has been built on, allows any kind of different buildings yet all of them been composed in the same manner. In simpler words, the buildings might be different to each other; still they all look alike by sharing common structural elements.
